The Canadian Sociological Association promotes research, publication and teaching of Sociology. Our 2021 Conference theme, Resisting Racism and Colonialism, provides an opportunity for us to collectively examine colonialism and racism as well as the structural inequalities which have been further revealed and exacerbated by the pandemic. We examine the social forces in the world around us while remaining self-reflexive about our own disciplinary practices.
Although we will not be able to gather in person, this year's virtual format will enable us to continue to share our research, discuss issues affecting society and our discipline, and learn through professional development opportunities. We also appreciate the advantage of a virtual conference in overcoming barriers to participation. We invite you to join us for a variety of panels, presentation sessions, and roundtables organized in 40 themes within the field of sociology.
