Artificial Intelligence systems are typically developed in labs by engineers and computer scientists without representation from the groups that will be affected by the systems. This workshop will take a speculative design approach to imagining what AI could be. Led by designers, the workshop will give participants a chance to develop mockups of alternative AI futures. Participants are encouraged to access pre-workshop materials located here: http://bit.ly/Congress2021NewApproaches2AI. This event is organized by Jason Lewis, Concordia University, with session leadership by Michelle Brown, Suzanne Kite, and Ceyda Yolgörmez.
