This workshop is designed to support graduate students and early-career researchers who are interested in engaging in ethical, community-based research projects in partnerships with Indigenous peoples, communities, and organizations. In the workshop, we will provide guidance about wise practices in building relations between scholars and communities, while being attentive to the complexities and barriers in conducting ethical research in academic contexts. This is open to colleagues in disciplines across the social sciences and humanities.

Speakers:
  • Florence Glanfield, Vice-Provost (Indigenous Programming & Research), University of Alberta
